Is there a way to keep it from deleting the previously drawn contours?

Ray,

Do you have Delete Ink turned on? If so, toggle it off and leave Pen toggled on.

Thanks,

Try Pencil/Pen Locks. You can toggle these locks to control which graphics is redisplayed. Graphics generated with Pen Lock On is permament , the new graphics would be displayed in addition to old ones. If you generate graphics in Pencil Mode, it will be redrawn when every time you redisplay it.

These locks are really powerfull tool.

Adam.

(Tools>Locks) If it is set to pencil the contours for 1 surface refresh (like what you are seeing). If it is set to pen they don't refresh. There is also the delete ink lock. You can find more information in the help file.
