I am working with a client to create a preference (.XIN) file for the transition to InRoads and InRoads Survey. With this task, we need to setup all of their survey feature codes, some 600 or so items.
I was able to find the Import Named Symbology from .csv function (that has since disappeared - possibly due to InRoads v81/MicroStation v8i Select Series 1incompatibility issues?), but that only addresses half of the need. Is there another import function for Style Manager? Is there a faster or better way to input/import Survey Feature Codes?
Thank you both for the replies. The Named Symbology Tools must have disappeared when I loaded InRoads from the icon and it opened in ACAD.
Jason - Unfortunately, all I have to work with are Excel files, no existing preferences to work with. The client is going from Eagle Point to InRoads.
Caddcop - I was hoping it wouldn't come down to brute force or XML editing, but that may be the only answer. Thanks for the suggestions on Notepad++ with the XML add-in. I'll look into that one first.
David,
The Named Symbology Tools are not available in AutoCAD.
Thanks,
Jason Smithey
Jason,
Just to clarify, I am working in MicroStation. However, when I open InRoads from the Icon, it opens in ACAD due to the version incompatibility. This removes the Named Symbology tools from the menus. When I open MicroStation and load InRoads from the MDL, the Named Symbology Tools are no longer there and need to be "Added" again through the Application Add-ins.
