Greetings-
Based on other posts I've perused here, I thiink i may know the answer to my question, but just in case...
I am cutting profiles based on graphic elements (not necessarily perpendicular to my alignments) using InRoads XM and would like to see my surfaces' components in those profiles. Is this possible?
My guess:
This functionality does not exist... yet. AFAIK, the compnents are based on the template drops being normal to the ALG that was used to create them, and that to compute what a component will look like in a skewed section would be pretty intense. Thus, it's only available when cutting cross sections for now?
Can anyone confirm if I am correct? Or might I be missing something?
Thanks!
Jeff
The best you could do is plot crossing points of your component features and play connect the dots.
Unless the centerline of your road is 100% perpendicular to the other alignment, in which case, it would be possible to cut a section and plot it on top of the profile.
I do hope that eventually, component display to profiles become a reality.

Okay. That's what I thought.
