  • Hi Astrit,

First question would be which version of InRoads are you running. This is shown in Help->About Bentley InRoads.

To first create a surface you need to go to File->New and click on the Surface tab. You can type in a name for the surface and a description and create a surface that way. From there you can use the File->Import->Surface or Surface Advance tools to bring in features. Surface advance allows you to import surfaces in a Batch run. This is useful but takes a bit of setting up.

You should also go to File->Tools->Named Symbology Manager and File->Tools->Style Manager and create the styles you want your features to look like.

If you have XM edition (V08.09.##.##) they have video tutorials showing you how to run the File->Import->Surface Advanced tool. If not Bentley also run training courses which can be found here  http://www.bentley.com/en-US/Training/Products/default.htm

  • You can also get PDF's and example data sets from Bentley's web site. These tutorials have a "Getting Started with ..." section and introduce you to the products in a gradual way.

    http://communities.bentley.com/Wiki/view.aspx/InRoads_Product_Tutorials

These are for XM (8.9) but  also can apply to V8i. There are aslo locations where the 8.5 versions are stored.
