I'm trying to see if we can make Geopak create a parabolic superelevation. We are doing a project that is utilizing TxDOT roadway criteria and TxDOT requires a parabolic superlevation transition. Here is a link to the exhibit that shows what I'm talking about: http://onlinemanuals.txdot.gov/txdotmanuals/rdw/2-1.pdf. If Geopak will do it, then I'll just create an input file from that and load into Roadway Designer. I tried to see about creating an *.sup file based on TxDOT criteria for Roadway Designer but not sure I understand the components of that input file. Plus, not sure it will apply a parabloc transition.
Rick,
If you apply superelevation and edit the control line, you have the option to set non-linear transitions.
But the break point of super is the V.C. PI, not the VPC.
Let us know if this meets your criteria.
Rich,
(I am not sure if Geopak and IR have the same RD) Check menu Tools>Variable Manager>Modeler-Normal Crown to Full Super... (TxDOT). Once you select this you have to unselect Non-Linear transition for superlelevation control lines.
Regards,
Piotr
