Vertical profile

Dear friends, please help me. I have got one problem in mXROAD XM with vertical profile.

After i finish with my horizontal alignment, i can start my vertical profile from quick alignment and it works ok. but after i correct my horizontal alignment iam not able to go into vertical profile again. It has happened to me many times. The only way is to start a fresh design again leading me to wastage of time.

Can any one tell me why is this happening and how to correct it.

Thank you all

  • This process should be ok. Is there an error message displayed when it won't go into vertical ?

  • Dear Ian Thanks you so much. In quick profile i have to enter my string name eg MC00 and surface model eg Triangle.TXT. Usually when i enter these two parameter, MX should take me to vertical profile alignment design. but it is not taking me inside and it is asking me to enter it again and agian and do not take me inside. no other error messages are displayed..

    thanks

  • Dear sir

I am very sorry for the delay. I will send the data to your gmail account.

    thank you so much

  • Dear Bhaskar

I was trying to send the files to you but it is bit heavy. In the mean time could find out how it is happening but not why it is happening. I am not able to invoke vertical option if i copy the data and try to work in another computer. And it is working if i use the same computer where i have processed initially. It seems there is some problem while transferring the data from one computer to another. I always copy the whole folder so that i dont mis anything to work in another computer.

Do you you see it as problem which i described above? so how do i avoid it.

    thanks

  • Hi tougay,

Try to go to Element Method and delete GDS model. Than go one more time and should be ok.
Remenber to create an M-string of horizontal alignment before deleting GDS. Finally:

    1. Create an horizontal alignment and craete M-string (and leave alignment design),
    2. Go to alignment design via Element method and select Your model (i.e. DESIGN),
    3. Place "X" in "Delete GDS?" box, select "DESIGN   GDS (GDS)" and click "Delete GDS?" button,
    4. Select Your model (i.e. DESIGN) and go to "Horizontal Design >",
    5. Place "X" in "Retrive Alignment" box and select on screen Your M-string of alignment,
    6. Select "Next >", than a green "V" sign (if You don't want to amend a horizontal alignment),
    7. Go to "Vertical Design >" and design :)
