Overlay tools - minimum milling with adjustable overlay

Hi,

Working with Inroads SS1 (8.11.07.246)

I've just started to work with the  new Overlay tools for Roadway Designer and for training I want to acomplish task according to the following scenario:

1) milling existing pavement at a minimum depth of 4 cm for the station range;
2) vertical alignment adjustment which is done by minimum overlay (6 cm) and maximum 12 cm. The overlay componet's bottom follow milled existing pavement and top is  6 to 12 cm above the milled surface.
3) there is  regular backbone components above ovelay component.

As I understand, there are three possible scenarios for vertical adjustments: a) Simple overlay without milling, b) Overlay+Max milling only where is needed to put overlay component and c) minimum milling.

I wonder is there a way to perform minimum milling with vertical adjustment done by overlay components.

I found a workaround: First I create new "milled existing surface" and than use minimum overlay. Can I acomplish that in a single step?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Adam.

    These features you are looking for all appear to be in MX Renew, so I doubt whether there is an easy way to do what you want in Inroads - Bentley wouldn't be able to sell MX Renew if everything was in MX Road and Inroad.

    It looks like the package you actually need is MX Renew - I think you are trying to stretch the capabilities of the package you have.

    Horses for courses.

    Not much help I know - sorry.

    Regards
