Hi all,
I have been asked by a fellow InRoads user to find a spec for a laptop to be used on site for InRoads design updates, during construction.
Through your experience with using InRoads on different machines, what kind of laptop should we be looking for, specification wise?
We will be required to use InRoads V8i SS1, Microstation V8i and AutoCAD 2009 on the machine.
Thanks.
Lenovo Thinkpad "W: series. Powerful enough, rugged enough, docking station option so you can connect 2 displays. If you go for "T" series you might loose dedicated graphics but battery lifetime goes up significantly.
Lenovo ThinPad W is definitively best choice. We test W and T model - for graphics and computation is W series better. T series has worst grahics - for Office OK, but CAD + InRoads not sufficient. Add memory to max as possible.
