We are new to Corridor Modeler/Roadway Designer in Geopak and have a few questions how to get things set up correctly.
Our first issue is trying to use "if/then" statements on end conditions. Specifically, we want to test the slope between two points, and based on that slope, pick an end condition. The problem we are running into is with our 2 end conditions (EC), with priorities 1 and 2; both techincially solve, so the first one always gets displayed. The way we tried to do this was with Display Rules to check the slopes. That works in that it won't display EC No. 1 based on the rule, but it doesn't show EC No. 2.
The reason the slopes are changing is because we are using special ditches (they have their own alignment and profiles) that we are drawing to..using the end condition constraints to that alignment. In cases where our slope is less then 6:1 from pavement to ditch, then we want to draw straight from the pavement to the ditch bottom. In cases where the slope is steeper then 6:1, then we need to draw a clear zone buffer zone, and then steepen the slope to the ditch. Make sense?
We are trying to avoid having 100 templates for a project.
The way we currently have it set up, is we have 1 template, and are using end condition exceptions for all these varying slopes. The problem is if we change the ditch or roadway alignment/profile, then we would have to go back through each section and find where we need the particular end conditions instead of it solving automatically.
This wasn't a problem drawing cross sections using criteria files as it was easy to test "end conditions" with if/then statements.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
