Superelevation - point constraints between two sections, independent subgrade superelevation

Hi all,

I faced the following problem:

There are two superelevation sections in my task - one for top layer and the second one for subgrade. These two layers are superelevated toogether (point constraints in template definition) till top layer reaches reverse crown point (Pivot Direction is set From Crown Point and the Pivot Point is CL point in my template). Top layers is superelevated to the full super and the subgrade is superelvated independetly with Pivot Direction set From outside of Curve. Works perfectly!

However I would like to constrain start point of subgrade superelevation line to the reverse crown point on top layer superelevation line. Since this points come from two diferent Sections it seems to be imposible. Is there a way to set constraints between control ines points form diferent sections? It would be helpfull in some workflows.

Working with this task I found problem within annotating superelevation control lines in profile. When I try to annotate lines from two sections at once it works OK but when these sections have diferent Pivot Directions I get message "Invaild Argument". Is it a bug?

Thanks,

Adam.

  • Adam,

You are correct that you cannot constrain point between superelevation sections. Super sections are similar to templates. You cannot contrain a point in one template to a point in second template.

Can you create all super control lines in one section? in the latest version, there is a toggle to expose all points in the template, including subgrade points.

On the last referenced issue, this does sound like a bug. We will need to data and steps to reproduce. Please feel free to contact me and send the required information/data.

    Thomas
