I generated cross sections in a file and the cross section navigator worked fine. I then moved the file to another folder location and the cross section navigator does not work with the XS's anymore. Is there a way to 'reassign' the location of the navigator so that I will be able to navigate thru the sections with the file in the new location.
(The whole reasoning behind this is because we have rather long folder paths which GeoPak seems to have difficulty with, so moving the files temporarily to 'shallower' folders seems to remedy this problem. However, when the files are moved back to the location where I want them I get other problems popping up (ie: the navigator).)
MS version 08.05.02.55
GeoPak version 08.08.02.81
TIA
Hi David,
The navigator doesnt look at folder paths (in theory).
It looks at the XS cell in the DGN and the GPK file (for the chain).
Did you move the GPK too?
I did move the GPK file.
However, I did look at cutting the sections again and was able to generate them by moving the pattern shapes dgn and tin file to a 'shallower' folder while leaving the GPK file alone. But to get the sections to generate, I had to create them in a XS dgn in the 'shallower' folder rather than in the folder where I ultimately want the file. The XS navigator works fine with the sections if I don't move the XS folder, but when I move it to the folder where I ultimately want it the navigator doesn't work with the sections anymore. I am trying several things to trouble shoot this. Can anyone clear up anything that i might be doing wrong? I'm not sure if there's a limitation to the number of folders or characters that the navigator or GeoPak can 'look thru' to find the necessary files. The folder structure and number of characters for each folder doesn't seem excessive.
can you please provide the full path (file path) where you were ulimately planning to place the XS DGN?
There is a 256 character limitation on the file path... but some specific characters can issues as well.
Thanks,
