Question: I see in the plan view and read in the Release Notes, that it can now display top surface features in plan view. Can I turn this off? Currently, reviewing my design is taking much longer than it used to.
Comment/Suggestion: When selecting components in most commands, the software opens a dialog box with all possible components at the data point location. And, as you hover over each ones button, they highlight so you know which one is which. Well, the Delete Point tool needs a similar interface. I realize it allows you to select multiple components, but if the highlighted ones in the list also highlighted in the display, it would go a long way towards improving the interface.
Comment/Suggestion: On those tools where you need to id a point - there is no hover-tip offered. This would also go a long way towards improving the interface.
Comment/Suggestion: One The Edit point tool, on a number of locations, there is a number of fields where long names cannot be fully displayed, but offer a hover-tip. For some reason, the Name field and the Label Fields do not. Again, this would also go a long way towards improving the interface.
Hello Chuck,
There is no off button for the feature display in plan view. Future versions of Roadway Designer might have more control over what is viewed.
I am assuming that the Comment/Suggestions are relating to Creation/Editing templates.

For the Feature Display in plan view of the designer, something like the Superelevation control lines display might be very nice. Where you can select which, if any surface feature lines to display. One item that might make sense to be off by default (if not always off) is the features created by component end condition rounding. These generally only clutter up the display. Even when displaying features in the cad platform, these frequently are not needed.
I'll get back to you on the rest...
