We have been using inroads for years and we've noticed in the latest version of inroads (ss2) something is broke when snapping. You can't snap to elements when doing vertical or horizontal alignments. It snaps quickly and then goes back. I've tried element lock and snap lock on and off and it doesn't change this behavior. Every once and a while it will work correctly but only if you go out of MS and go back in.

Anyone else see this?
This is for Inroads v08.11.07.428 & MS 08.11.07.443 (forgot to add that last in my last post)
I think it has to do with InRoads using transient elements more and more. While certain transient elements may not need to be snap-able, I would have to agree that these should be.

When we draw geometry the elements are not transients, only in dynamics or highlighting are they temporary.
Is the problem occurring with the MicroStation snapping to elements or in the InRoads Geometry Snap Locks? They are two separate functions.
I don't think it's a MS fault as much as inroads. If you are just drawing lines in MS it works just fine. But say you have a vertical alignment where you want to move a PI location, it will snap to an endpoint but won't lock onto that point. It snaps quickly and then just continues to move dynamically with the mouse. It is grabbing the linework that inroads creates but won't let you accurately snap to something. Accusnap doesn't work at all in inroads but I can live without that as long as it physically snaps to a location. It's only the verticals that it doesn't seem to work correctly. It behaves the same when creating a new vertical alignment or editing an old one. It will snap when doing horizontal alignments though. No accusnap but regular snaps work for me.
Please contact Bentley InRoads Support so they can investigate what is happening to snapping. I can snap to elements using the mouse buttons. I have verified the Accusnap isn't functioning in dynamic geometry commands and filed a defect.
Any resolution to this?
I am having the EXACT same problem.
Using InRoads XM V08.09.03.06
I have some news.
Our investigation determined that this Accusnap problem cannot be resolved in a fixes release. Too many adjacent areas are impacted and it is not feasible for the InRoads V8i SS2 Refresh due out at the end of March.
Please use the MicroStation tentative button snap functionality for your design workflows.

Thanks for the update Mike!
However, I am not using Accusnap when I try to snap to an element in the vertical alignment. For example, I have a line that represents a surface that I am trying to snap to. I am using the "Move Vertical PI" command and then snapping to a line in the profile (using MS keypoint snap enabled). The problem is the same as noted above "snaps quickly but goes back".
