Hello Friends,
I got a question: is there a possibility to create a triangulation string from 2 or more triangulation strings (to merge 2 or more triangulation strings into one)?
Best regardsAleksander Zamorski
In addition to what Krzysztof writes... I would recommend to drop the Mesh twice so you get lines.
Delete the duplicate lines (CAD Menu > Utilities > Data Cleanup) and import the remaining lines as breaklines.
Merge as many string models as required and triangulate the merged string model.
When you triangulate those imported breaklines you have the guarantee that the new triangulation will exactly match the old triangulation. You don't have that guarantee when using a point-string.

Wolfgang
In addition to what Wofgang wrote...You can also drop it once and import triangles as (for example) "Imagination lines"....but probably dropping it twice would be the most wisest think :).
Hi,
After some consultation with BE friend there is an ability to merge triangulation with Data Acquisition (DA) tool. Shortly it looks like this:
And that's it :)
..and does it really help as far as speed and number of steps to do is concerned ??. Do you really have such a big tria that your machine could not handle it ??. Can you provide genio with those tria..I'd like to check if my monster workstation can handle this kind of job :)
Hi Aleks,
May i know where i can find this DA tools in mx?

The Data Acquisition tool is in the Task Panel as below.
In MX v8i SS3 the Data Acquisition tool has been replaced with the Civl Tools as below.
The Terrain Model tool can be used to import two MX triangulation models combine them and the combined terrain can be passed back to MX as a single triangulation model.
Dear Aleks,
Thanks for the info. However i'm so confused with the steps/procedure to merge two tria. Could you please further explain/derive the steps for the above mentioned info? Thanks in advance.

Hi Chandru,
it would help to know what software version you are using as the tool names are different between SS2 and SS3.
Please advise.
Hi Michael,
My current mx version is MXRoad V8i SS3 08.11.09.674.
The video at the link below shows the process of combining two or more MX Triangulation models using the Civil Terrain Tool in MX v8i SS3.

Hi Jason,
Thanks man.
