i have an existing surface (dtm) and i am putting in a proposed concrete pad at a certain elevation. i want the pad to tie into the existing ground at 2 to 1 how do i generate a new proposed surface showing the 2 to 1 slope .

Build a simple end condition template with the slope you want and use the Surface>Design Surface>Apply Template command
or
use the Generate Longitudinal Feature command. (I think that can do what you're asking)
Would you please share some experience on why you recommend not using site modeler?
I especially like the function of "Raise/Lower surface by Volume", It can automatically raise or lower the surface to get a balanced volume. If you don't use site modeler, how can you achieve this result?
