Is there a way to pre-populate an InRoads project defaults entry? We are working on our Windows 7 implementation, coupled with our V8i SS2 deployment. Our agency locks down some of the key folders, such as C:\Program Files (x86). We update our stylesheets periodically and it would be nice to set up a new project template that points to a C:\Users\Public\CAEResources folder containing our stylesheet collection as well as default XIN. Thanks in advance…
Project Defaults can be exported from one PC and Imported into others. The files are registry files, which can even be edited in Notepad which can even allow you to convert a Project Defaults between versions when necessary.
We have our style sheet root on a network share and when setting up a PC, we load a standard Project Defaults file. We have only a few Projects - one for AutoCAD and one for MicroStation. The AutoCAD one points at one XIN file and our Style sheet root and nothing else. For MicroStation, we use configuration variables for folders and file names and define them in our PCF files or with an Autorun VBA. That way, by selecting the correct PCF - which are client based and opening a file in our standard folder structure, InRoads defaults to the correct folders and loads the correct XIN and other support files.

that makes sense. do you have a "noproj" project as a blank template that your users open?
I have a DGNDIR project, where the default folder for all file folders is defined to the folder of the active DGN file.
But a No Project could be created, where the only thing defined is the XML Style sheet Root folder.
There is a "None" which has nothing defined - this could be copied to make a No Project..
Would the 'Persist Project Defaults Paths' accomplish this?
