Tracking alignments and coordinate/geometry location shifts

Sometimes in Inroads XM we have noticed an error that occurs with tracking horizontal alignments.  After a horizontal alignment has been established and has been used for months, there have been times when you open a drawing in Microstation V8 (a drawing that has also been established for months) and you go to "track" the horizontal alignment and the origin of the tracking line will not follow the actual alignment and in fact gives false readouts.  It appears to be a continuous offset along the entire length of the horizontal alignment.  Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue?  Typically we have to recreate the drawing file.  This does not appear to be an occurence that happens in multpile drawings using the same reference files and Inroads files.  When the occurence happens it seems to be restricted only to that one drawing.  We have also noticed that this "shift" occurs to the coordinate system as well.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?
