Using InRoads V8i (SELECT series 2) V08.11.07.428
Recently upgraded to series 2. When creating surfaces in the Roadway Designer in SELECT series 1 the created features would have the corridor name prefixed to the name such as "Highway-EP_L". Now that I have SELECT series 2 I am not getting the prefix, EP_L. The prefix is useful when merging features into other surfaces and when identifying features in general.
Has this function/option been dropped? Or is there a setting that I lost in the "upgrade"?
Thanks,
Curt
Roadway Modeler features are prefixed with the Corridor Name only when the "General Options" toggle for "New surface for Each Corridor" is OFF and you provide a Surface "Name” otherwise the features are created using the point names defined in the template and the surface name is the Corridor Name.

Your reply is the way I have been using the Create Surface tool. After experimenting with it, I am only able to get the corridor prefix on the feature name when more than one corridor is selected for modeling. I would prefer the prefix always, or at least to choose when to append the name.
Was this function changed for this SS2?
I believe it is described in the "What's new or changed" document that is delivered with the product.

OK there may be a change. Give this a try, it seems to work. I created a dummy corridor, then when creating the surfaces select both the surface you want (design surface) and the dummy, the dummy corridor is empty because I did not assign any templates, but the design surface features are now prefixed with the Corridor Name.
This may be a (seem like a) workaround, but it also gives us full flexability to have prefixed feature names or not. I can imagine that there were request to not have prefix names on features when creating single surface models from the Roadway Designer. Now we have both it you want the prefixed add a dummy surface if you do not want prefixes do not include the dummy surface.
