Corridor Feature names

Using InRoads V8i (SELECT series 2) V08.11.07.428

Recently upgraded to series 2. When creating surfaces in the Roadway Designer in SELECT series 1 the created features would have the corridor name prefixed to the name such as "Highway-EP_L". Now that I have SELECT series 2 I am not getting the prefix, EP_L. The prefix is useful when merging features into other surfaces and when identifying features in general.

Has this function/option been dropped? Or is there a setting that I lost in the "upgrade"?

Thanks,

Curt

  • OK there may be a change.  Give this a try, it seems to work.  I created a dummy corridor,  then when creating the surfaces select both the surface you want (design surface) and the dummy, the dummy corridor is empty because I did not assign any templates, but the design surface features are now prefixed with the Corridor Name.

This may be a (seem like a) workaround, but it also gives us full flexability to have prefixed feature names or not.  I can imagine that there were request to not have prefix names on features when creating single surface models from the Roadway Designer.  Now we have both it you want the prefixed add a dummy surface if you do not want prefixes do not include the dummy surface.
