Geographic microstation tool in Mx Roads

Hi all,

I was trying Capture the Google Earth Image into Mx envoirnment using Geographic tool of  Microstation in MX, but their was some problem on it

that only the Grid was displayed and not the Image, the image was in the project Folder as a simple JPG.

secondly Please explain me wat is DATAPOINT (It asks to enter datapoint when i try to capture the Google Earth Image.

Thirdly the Image which is imported is in Black and White and not in Colour due to which it is very difficult for me to identify the features in it. Please let me know wat i should do to import in colour.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Jayanth,

You must render the view and due to google earth limitations you are getting a b/w image, only!

  • Hi all,

Thanks for all ur replies and support,

I got the Image now, but the problem is it is B/W, Since i need to identify some minute details the colours are very much essential for me instead it would be very much difficult for me. Can it be taken as colour image by some or the other way.

Please let me know if their is something of that kind.

  • Jayanth: Can it be taken as colour image by some or the other way?

    No, not from Google Earth!

  • As soon as the capture is complete, go to Google Earth.  In Google Earth's menu bar, go to Edit>Copy Image.  Open Microsoft Paint (or some other image editor) and paste the image into the program.  Save the image to a convenient location and name in whatever format suits you (.jpg/.jpeg should work just fine).  This will get you a color image - just make sure that you don't manipulate the Google Earth view in any way between the time you perform the capture and the time  you copy the color image.

  • Hi Larry,

    Thank u it works,

there is one more shortcut instead of copying image and pasting in image editor, u can just save the view as image and replace it in project folder with the image which is already captured by the microstation tool.

Finally issue solved Thanks for all the replies
