Hello,
I received a survey from geodesist saved to file with DTM extension [ map.dtm ]. Does anyone know how to import it to MX?
Best regardsAleksander Zamorski
Hi Alek
I would initally create a new model before importing the DTM file into MX.
In the Tasks Tool Panel there is a Data Aquisition tool which will allow you to import a DTM (You can also access the tool using the menu bar Tool>Data Aquisition). This tool allows you to import the DTM as a surface. Right click on Surface and follow the links as shown on the import screen shot below and select InRoads DTM.
When you have imported the DTM you can export it to an MX model. Right click on the Map surface and follow the links as shown on the export screen shot below. Select the model.fil and hit save.
In the MX model list you should now have a MAP Tria model.

Could You tell me if there is a solution with pre XM edition (without PowerDraft environment and without Data Acquisition)?

If you want to import the DTM directly? No, not that I'm aware of.
I don't remember by heart when the LandXML import function was added to MXROAD, but I'm rather sure it was pre XM Edition.
I would recommend to ask the survey company to give you a LandXML file instead of the DTM file. For pre XM Edition it probably must be LandXML 1.0.
Alternatively, InRoads also has a GENIO translator (> InRoads Application Add-Ins). Perhaps the survey company could even provide a GENIO for you.
Best Regards
