We have computers with the following software installed:
MicroStation (SELECTseries2) 08.11.07.443)
InRoads Group V8i (SELECTseries2) 08.11.07.428
GEOPAK Suite V8i (SELECTseries2) 08.11.07.427
When attempting use Geopak to draw cross sections from a surface the app crashes and brings MicroStation down with the following message in a command window:
System fault: 5
"tbcxs.mc"gmcTbcxs_Process
MDL Loader: Could not load application e:\builds\gkste081107427\Source\geopak\eu
ro\src\\xsdmn\tbcxs\src\tbcxs.mc
XSDMN is the MDL debug application.

I have encountered this problem on two separate computer platforms, one with XP SP2 and one with Windows 7 (x64). On one of the XP computers the Bentley software was uninstalled and MicroStation and Geopak were reinstalled. The draw cross sections app then worked as expected. This leads me to suspect there is some sort of conflict between the Geopak and InRoads software installations. Any ideas on how to fix this?

You should open a Select Service Ticket, the best way!

will do Frank, Thanks. usually solve my problems alone, best way to learn. This one may be above my pay grade!
Frank,
You are correct. However, there is no conflict with having them both installed on the machine - but you don't want to have them both 'loaded' in MS at the same time.
For example, if you are going to be running InRoads then just make sure the 'geopak.cfg' is renamed or something so that GEOPAK does not load at the same time. Keep in mind that it remains installed, it is just not loading into MS at the same time as InRoads.

Is this something that will be fixed in future versions?
Some of our users need to be able to switch between Geopak or Inroads.
Are you saying you want both available in the same instance of MicroStation? Since you are using the SS2 releases, you can just use the desktop icon to switch between the disciplines you need. Does that not work for you and if not why?
