Hello,
I have an existing alignment that I am using as a center line to cut my cross sections, and I have a second alignment (edge of road) that I need to show as a point on the cross section. I need to show the distance and elevation of the second alignment in respect to the existing main center line. I am using V8i inroads/rail track. I know that when i make a template that I can have its end extents attach to the second alignment, but I need to show this as existing data, so I cannot use a template) Is there a way I can show it as a layer/component if not an alignment? I have to show the existing edge of a road in respect to the existing center line.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should create a DTM feature from the Edge of Road alignments. Features can be displayed and annotated in cross section as crossing and or projected features.

if you got a minute could you walk me through this a bit?
I would start by having an existing surface that has been triangulated, and a center line.
I then would create a new surface and Import it by layer(edge of road)?
How do I create it to be a feature?
I think that is where I am getting stuck. I used features before but it was to show a template in the cross section, crossing features is somewhat new to me.
Thank you.
Check out the InRoads manual on VAOT (Vermont Agency of Transportation.) I suspect Mike had a hand in its developnment. There is a tutorial on annotation cross sections. Features exist in both existing and design DTM's. If your DTM came from survey or photogrammetry, it should already have edges of road features. Their styles may need adjusting before it will work as intended..
