Help please: Model a sloped surface a a rock filled wall in the middle using InRoads

Greetings,

Please see the sketch below, I need to model this surface, and I have no clue where to start. Anybody please kindly point me a direction. Your help will be greatly apprecaited.

The main question I have is how to get the 2% slope? and how to model the wall?

Thanks a lot.

  • Bentley Institute offers an On-Line Class on February 13 to February 16, 2012 (4 days) called Advanced Roadway Designer for InRoads, V8i (SELECTseries 2) with MicroStation.  It assumes you know the Template basics, and takes you into really advanced territory.

  • Thanks again, Jeff, very appreciate your help.

I kind of understand your concept, but still have questions:

    1. When you talk about the alignment, are you refer to create an alignment along the boundary of the surface (the outline from the plan view at my previous screen shot), or you refer to create an alignment along the edge of the wall?

    2. Your guess was right,  I have known constraints at both ends and everything in the middle is completely defined by that. You mention that we can make  a template to do this automatically, then does the template should be looked like the section I showed in my previous screen shot (a template includes the both upper and lower surface and the wall in the middle) ? then where the alignment should be so the template could run along it?

I will register the training for Feb13 if my boss can approve it. I will find similar training from OnDemand as well. Thanks for the information.
