We are performing intersection survey work and creating tin files for a client, who does not use V8i. They are using Microstation and Geopak V8 2004 versions, while we are running V8i SS2 versions. When trying to load our tin files, they receive an error stating that the tin is an unrecognized version. What would be the easiest way to convert these tin files to the V8 2004 version? Do I need to visualize the triangles into a 3d dgn, open the file using MS and Geopak V8 2004 versions, then extract the graphic triangles as break lines to create a tin which the client can load and use?
Thanks.
You can export XML ... or you can just send them the 3D graphical triangles DGN file and they can create the TIN from that.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I found that after importing the XML in Geopak V8 2004, there were a couple of spikes in the tin file. Extracting graphic triangles produces an exact copy, so that is what we will utilize.
You might be able to use an ASCII dat file.
Before LandXML, we used to use 3d graphics of breaklines, points and boundary elements to go between InRoads and GEOPAK.
