How to bring in features into your DTM

Hello Guys i was recently going through the bentley system online ondemand training, and i was wondering how they did brought in the features into the dtm. pls guys this is exactly my problem, let say within the terrain there is a utility underground, at a certain depth, pls how do i bring that into my terrain, so that i can show that feature in all the major views such as PLAN , PROFILE AND CROSS SECTION VIEWS. And lastly i was wondering if the Factor Tab of the  project options dialog box, works similarly the way most design software interpretes scale factors. Thanks guys......

Regards

  • The is an import surface from graphics tool on the file menu. there, you can tell it to use the graphic elevations, or you can tell it to read the elevations from  surface and also include a vertical offset. Then using this, you also need to tell it to exclude the feature from triangulation.

It is also possible to create a horizontal and vertical alignment and then to import that into a surface.

Finally, in the design or edit surface tools, you can manipulate the features to adjust as little or as much as you need.
