I’m a long time Geopak user, 15 yrs. Now having to learn Inroads. I’m very used to using the D&C manager that I built for displaying stationing, curve data, bearing and the chain in about 4 or so clicks. And very easy to customize how everything is shown. I’m running into massive brick walls attempting to do this in inroads. I’m finding not everything can be changed and I have to go to different drop downs for everything.
Guessing what I need to know is there any tools Im not seeing like the D&C manager? Does anyone kow of ANY type of blogs/pdf files or websites that help with going from geopak to inroads?
With InRoads, we now have the ability (I assume you are using Ss2 InRoads in Indiana) to use 'Geometry > View Geometry > Options' to assist in getting LOTS of annotation FAST (one click).
Of course, you first need your XIN to have the preference settings set up for the View Stationing, Horizontal Annotation, and possibly Curve Set Annotation (I'm specifically speaking of Horizontal since you did). As long as you make the Hor Geo Style and Preference Set names the same, the link is made, then you'll get automatic annotation as you design and it is very easy to get it on the screen in the first place - just 'view' the horizontal.
