When I try running the cross section labeling tool out of the Corridor Modeling window I get an error
Run-time error '91':
Object variable or With block variable not set
I have the options to "End", "Debug", or "Help"
"Debug" opens VBA editor which is far beoynd my experince to use. "End" closes the processes without starting the labeling tool. "Help" opens a help window which hasn't been very helpful.
How can I get cross section labeler to run? I've restarted multiple times and tried creating a new file and copying in the cross sections to a clean file. Any suggestions?
I'm using V8i, Select series 2.
Thanks
It may also be useful to know that this appears to be a problem unique to a single dgn. I have multipe cross section files on this project and all files can have been labeled successfully but one.
This is usually a registry problem ... you can try self-registering the dll.
1.) Close all DGN files
2.) Bring up the dos prompt and change directory ("cd") to the following location (may be slightly different on your computer):
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Bentley Shared\GEOPAK\
3.) Key-In "REGSVR32 BentleyControls.ocx" and press Enter.
You should get a message "DllRegistryServer in BentleyControls.ocx succeeded"
4.) Now exit the dos prompt, go back into your DGN file and try again.

Yes, this does happen with other cross section files (other chains) with the same gpk.
do all the xs with problems have chain names with the Underscore _ ?

All of our chains have an underscore and this tool has worked in the past using them. To check your thought though, I recreated a chain and profile in the same gpk file using the name 'Cedar' and the error remains.
what version of geopak are you using?
Bentley GEOPAK V8i (SELECTseries 2) 08.11.07.536
ok, at this point, i am running out of ideas. i can reproduce the problem with your dataset. I would try recreating the xs in a fresh dgn.
I still get the same error with a fresh dgn.
ok. some of your point labels have the special character "&" and also are very long. could you run a test template with one of the ones we provide and create a new test corridor and see if it works.
i suspect the problem could be that the tool does not like the point names
Alright Nico, I think we are on to something. I was able to run a test corridor with standard templates and the tool worked. Additionally, I was able to get the tool to work with one of our side street corridors and in the same dgn that the tool would not work for our main corridor.
Digging in further, I created a new corridor with a side street chain/profile and applied the same template that we have had issues with and the tool worked...this leads me to believe there is something wrong with our chain and profile for the main corridor. I created a new corridor for our main chain/profile and used a standard template and the labeler tool did not work. Any ideas on what could be wrong with our chain/profile for the mainline. The name for both is "Harney_CL". I can describe the chain and the profile in COGO and they appear fine.
ok, i looked at your chain closely, if you plot the individual components of the chain, you will see that the spirals at the end do not quite connect with the curve. these gaps will most likely be the culprit. check spiral C1H5RB and SPI C1H5RA
