I am importing some shots in Microstation v8i using Geopak survey,,,, when i briing in the points they come in as dots, is there a setting where i can change them to be crosshair??? thanks

yes... the way the points look is determined by their field code and the settings corresponding to that code in the SMD (Survey Mapping Database).
So, you will need to edit the SMD file (there is a tool within the Survey menu to do this) and change the point symbol for the code of those particular points.
Now, if you havent set up your SMD specifically for your coding system (or the points don't have a field code at all), you may be getting all the points mapped into the DGN using the "default_point" settings. If this is the case, changing the symbol for that "default_point" and re-mapping the points should achieve the result you are looking for.
