Inroads Suite V8i "No triangle side found"

Inroads Suite V8i "No triangle side found" encountered during the triangulation process and halts.  What type of error is this or common causes in the breaklines that would result in this problem?  I have a 3D breakline file that I load into an empty surface using the IMPORT SURFACE ADVANCED tool...It appears to load correctly...then I triangulate the data and it errors.  If I just use the IMPORT SURFACE and load the breaklines by individual levels one at a time...and triangulate...It works.  Puzzled???

  • Hi Jeff,

I would like to know if the new InRoads DA/Survey functions could handle your DTM. Have you ever tried this new

InRoads functions that's just one step in front of our doors (still waiting for IR SS3).

Try to import your DTM into the Data Acquisition Tool (DA). Triangulation and viewing triangles will speed up, you will almost forget your CLIX boxes ;-) .

  • Why would I want another way to load my data?  sounds like another microstation spork idea to me...I like eating my food with individual spoon, fork and knife.  I still havn't forgiven the programmer that lessoned the original move command and forced me to use that silly accudraw,  I was unaware that I needed that kind of help.   Grin

  • Hi Jeff,

It was just another suggestion, Sorry, but as I think our old  InRoads work flows  will pass away the next years with the upcoming civil solutions  from Bentley. And I appreciate that Bentley works at one Civil App for all Geopack, MX and InRoads Users.

  • Oh...that did sound like a grumpy ole man.   When things slow down a bit I will give the data acquistion a whirl...The videos on this site look interesting.  I do like the new stuff ...The break by point command...been wearing that one out lately, but did we have to rename the partial delete command to break by two points and move it to another palette.  For 20 years the partial delete command had a home and name.  Now he is homeless and his name is BOB.  Ooop the grumpy ole man snuck out again..Big Grin

Does anybody have an idea or a guess at what a "No triangle side found" error means during the triangulation  process?  I can't seem to find anything on the subject.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

PS...I hope the new inroads work flow gets rid of the old chopped up Plan-Profile-Section mentality and goes to a more 3Dish look so you can see your longitudnal features and how they relate to the template drops or the wireframe model look.

  • I've got this error before while trying to flip triangles, and also when I had an exactly vertical wall.

Do you have a face that is vertical, and thus preventing triangles from being formed on it?
