For those of you getting started, I wanted to take a moment to point out we have delivered a sample workspace to help you get started. Select the user entitled "Examples". Then for the Project select Bentley-Civil-Imperial or Bentley-Civil-Metric. Finally, select the Interface Bentley-Civil.
I will be hosting a presentation on this workspace at the Bentley LEARNing Conference this May for those interested. Having a robust workspace for this new major release is vital to successful deployment.
Thanks,

I received a tip last week from Derricke Gray on a good idea for additional Project Settings - Design Stages. We added 4 new design stages to the Bentley-Civil Example Workspace that will be available in our next release. We added one for Top Mesh Only, Bottom Mesh Only, Linear Features Only, and Components Only. These are all Final design stages and make it a lot easier to get the correct information for machine control and terrain model creations. If you want an updated copy you can get it here. Note the paths are setup for Power GEOPAK, but it works for PG, PI, Inroads and GEOPAK Suite and MX. Just update the files that were delivered with your install after unzipping.

Note, as we continue to update our example workspace I will continue to update this thread. Note, the posted link will be good for a few weeks.

Hi Chuck -
The link is dead already. Can you repost a new one?
Thanks.
I have added some enhancements to the Examples Workspace (Imperial and Metric) for the Bentley Civil products (InRoads, GEOPAK, and MX) if you wish to manually update your install.
Download here:
ftp.geopak.com/.../SS3Standards_11_12_2013.zip
1. Added a Surface Feature for existing rock
2. Added a Linear Feature for existing rock breaklines (think bench cuts)
3. Added a Linear Feature called Matchline
4. Modified the rural undivided template to recognize the new feature "Matchline". If this feature is added as a corridor reference, the shoulder and end conditions will not draw. This is a handy way of not having to deal with end condition exceptions or adding clipping references to Corridors.
5. Many other minor enhancements.
Thanks Chuck
A revised Examples Workspace version for InRoads, GEOPAK and MX is posted here:

What's New:
1. In the subfolder entitled "dgnlib" a new MVBA has been added for users who wish to develop their own Workspaces. This MicroStation Visual Basic Application exports all levels in the currently opened DGNLib file to a XML file that can then be imported to create Element Templates in the Element Templates application within MicroStation. The XML file format will be such that the Element Template name will match the level name and the level for the Element Template will of course be set to that corresponding level name. The color, style and weight of the Element Template will all be set to "ByLevel". This application is useful for bulk creation of Element Templates for those of you looking to the future technology of Element Templates controlling your drawing environment. In the case of the client requesting this, they had a unique level for every payitem. They wanted those levels to be used through Element Templates but did not want to have to create thousands of Element Templates manually.
Hi chuck - would you happen to have a newer release or updated ftp link?
With the pending SS3 MR release, I wanted to share with you the changes coming to the Bentley-Civil Examples Workspace. I am very excited about these changes and hope you will be as well! Please see the attached file.
Additionally, the latest version is here and should match up with the released version.

One small update... We are setting the default for Live Nesting Depth to a value of 1.

Hey all, one small report. I found out I made a mistake in the examples workspace you all need to be aware of. I mixed survey feet with international feet between seed files and dgnlibs. This will cause computed values such as contour labels and stations to be converted. So for example you may see a contour label to be 299.9996 instead of 300. Make sure your dgnlibs and cell libraries match the units of your seed files. I will post an update for the workspace soon here.
Thanks
