Hi,
been walking through the vertical geometry workshop and have some questions. Might be best to make multiple posts so as not to introduce confusion between questions.
I create a "complex element" best fit profile. Is there a setting that tells the tool "add VC to changes of grade grater than X.X %"?
The profile isnt what I want, so I'd like to be able to edit it.
How do I insert a VC into it? At one location, there is a 2% change of grade that doesnt have a VC.. so I want to insert a VC at that location. How do I do that?
Now, to complicate it a little more, there is a VC close by, so the VC I wish to insert may overlap with the existing VC thats there... but thats a complication. Working out how to add a VC to one of these profiles is the first step.
Thanks,
Hi Michael,
The VCs are inserted based on the existing ground surface and the tolerances for upper and lower envelopes and desired curve lengths. There is no option to define them based on grade differences in the best fit tool.
To modify the best fit geometry, select the geometry and using the mini toolbar choose the convert to profile rule icon.
To insert a VC use the "profile insert curve" tool in the vertical geometry task or on the toolbox beside the profile views' view controls.
Regards
Paul
