Hi,
been walking through the vertical geometry workshop and have some questions. Might be best to make multiple posts so as not to introduce confusion between questions.
I create a "complex element" best fit profile. Is there a setting that tells the tool "add VC to changes of grade grater than X.X %"?
The profile isnt what I want, so I'd like to be able to edit it.
How do I insert a VC into it? At one location, there is a 2% change of grade that doesnt have a VC.. so I want to insert a VC at that location. How do I do that?
Now, to complicate it a little more, there is a VC close by, so the VC I wish to insert may overlap with the existing VC thats there... but thats a complication. Working out how to add a VC to one of these profiles is the first step.
Thanks,
I've checked two things in my last reply:
- when create profile curve between elements and use the unexploded complex elements, there is no trimming. It just makes a new curve sitting by itself.
- I also confirmed the oddity where you must pick tangent first when making a curve between a tangent and a curve. I've passed this to Civil PM and certification for investigation in future versions. In current SS3, just remeber that you'll need to pick the tangent first in thes situations.

FYI - I've experienced the same results with a vertical, or was it horizontal... alignment not trimming as instructed. However my workaround was to drill down into element information and setting the trim settings after the fact.
