Hello all,
I have been searching for a way to join vertical alignments using geometry commands, and am struggling. I have seen some legacy posts talking of 'copying' the vertical elements from one alignment to the destination, but this doesn't seem to resolve the issue for me.
So, we have field collected x-sections. And i am using lidar data to supplement the ends of the field collected data and extend the lengths of the sections. My idea was to import the linework from the field into geometry, simple. Then import draped lines from the surface into geometry for the sections that need extra length. So for the sections i could have between two to three pieces i need joined together. The Geometry->Utilities->Join command handles the horizontal pieces beautifully, but i cant seem to find any similar utility for vertical. I have tried Geometry->Vertical Element->Copy Element, and that gets the three pieces into one horizontal alignment, but stationing is still tied to the original horizontal alignments, and even still i cant find a way to join the three. Any thoughts, advice? Thanks very much in advance
