Hi,
I'm facing this problem with EXPORTING as I complete the design in Openroads Technology (MXV8i SS3 08.11.09.489 UK) and I'm trying to export to model.fil and continue the plan n profile via input file,
when I click at the boundary, no export option available like export terrain model,
anyone know how to do that?
thanks in advance,
Kugan.
I am not familiar with MX and input files at all, however if you want to export corridor to surface then you will need a top mesh for that corridor (Project Settings/ Design Stages). If you need linear features in your surface then you will have to import those generated with corridor into your surface.

You have a couple of options here.
As suggested in a previous posts you can generate meshes, make terrains from them and export back to the model.fil.
However if you are after the linear features (strings) you will need to ensure you have the receiving MX model defined in the feature tool bar as this dictates where the features are exported to. The linear features for the model must match the receiving styleset features, if they don't you'll get a load of 'w' strings in the resulting model. The process is similar to that of exporting CAD graphics to a MX model using the CAD conversion toolbar.
I hope this helps.

Ian,
I'm playing with exporting 3D linear elements from openroads model to model.fil. I believe I'm following the process but can't get consistency in string naming. See the screenshot below. Any idea why string names are not consistent? I'm running .845 version.
Thanks,
Krzysztof
