Hi,
I hadsimilar problem when I was testing beta release of InRoads v8i SS3 and now it hits me again. Please find attached printscreen.
Simple horizontal alignment with active profile as base for corridor. Single template drop. I try to control left edge of pavement horizontally with another horizontal complex element. There are stations where left edge of pavement point will not keep horizontal control element. These stations are not constant. When I change design stage to increase template drops - these stations are changed.
I have already verified if External Control Points and Densify Horizontal are toggled to True under design stages. I examined geometry for small gaps. Note that the stations where template does not keep horizontal point control geometry are random and are different than vertex on control line. I run out of ideas what might be wrong here. Help is needed.
Thanks,
Adam
Please take a look at the movie attached:
I recorded a movie to show my workflow. It happens with this geometry all the time. I tried to create new files. Tried to control not with geometry but with feature definition. With no success. When trying to figure out what might be a reason of this issue and testin a number of sample geometry configurations I noticed that sometimes half of backbone is not perpendicular to the CL when the edge of pavement is tied to control line. I performed tests on two independent PCs with different files, etc. Sometimes it works fine, but usually does not.
has anyone of you had similar problem with point controls? This issue has stopped my production. This is my second project with OpenRoads. The first went seamless (3D modelling) until evaluating the design with cross-sections. Ok Just watch my horror movie:
UPDATE: The same geometry but created near to Global Orgin in DGN file works ok. What is going on?
BTW: here is a link to my forum post (SS3 preview community) when I first met this problem: http://communities.bentley.com/administrators/closed_betas_communities/bentley_civil_v8i_selectseries_3_technology_preview/f/343139/t/77785.aspx

Hi Adam,
It's clear that there is some problem with the application of the point control in your dataset but I have not been able to reproduce it on my machine using my own data. I'd suggest that it would be worthwhile to contact technical support to provide your dataset and software versions being used so that they can further investigate and log trouble reports if necessary.
Regards
Paul
Hi Paul,
I've already logged a ST regarding this problem. That was the first thing I did when couldn't to handle it on my own. I sent you my data file so you may try to reproduce that.
I'm having the same problem, any workarounds ?
regards,
Juan
