Using V8i. Inroads/Geometry/View Geometry/Station Offset Annotation
I am having trouble getting Inroads to give me Station and Offset Interactively on graphic points that are not on the CENTERLINE of the alignment. Every point I click on that is offset from the alignment, Inroads jumps to the nearest cardinal point on the centerline.

Select the Tools drop down menu and then select Locks. Under Locks both Point Snap and Element Snap should NOT be selected. By your description I believe you have the Point Snap selected.
