I am using a mainlane corridor with separate frontage road corridors attached when creating my cross sections. I am using the mainlane alignment when running cross sections. Since the frontage roads aren't on the exact same stationing as the mainlanes, they are in-between template drops and are interpolating and not exactly touching existing ground.
Is there a way to add template drops or key stations that correspond with stationing from another alignment to prevent the interpolation? My main concern is for when I run earthwork calcs and the end conditions not connecting to existing ground exactly.

First I would like to verify what product and version you are running. I am assuming you are running InRoads V08.11.09.493 with the Open Roads Technology.
You should be able to create Key Stations by going to the Corridor Modeling > W > and selecting the key.
This command will ask you to select the Corridor you would like to add the key station to and then you can specify the station.
If you are not seeing the results you want after adding in Key Stations, please let me know. We can further troubleshoot with your dataset.

You could also try defining the frontage road corridors by selecting the mainline alignment as the Corridor Baseline, then assign the frontage road centerlines as point controls to move the templates over to the correct location (i.e. assign the frontage road centerline to the CL point in your template for both horizontal and vertical). This would allow the template drop interval to be controlled by the mainline, but the location of the templates defined by the frontage roads.
Kevin, yours was the idea I needed and that makes sense.
Andrea, the key station method would work, but I would have to enter hundreds of key stations to equal the intervals of my ML template drops.
a quick question regarding this solution.
If the frontage road was running parallel to the main road at, lets say, 50m offset and then eventually joined the main road at a right angle. There would be 50m of the frontage road that is perpendicular to the main road.
How would the generation of the template drops be achieved over that last 50m?
My solution only works when the alignments are nearly parallel. If the alignments turn perpendicular, you could split them up and start a new corridor at the bend.
