Hello,
I want to print to pdf file grading plan of proposed surface. I can not get contour labels to be printed. I have the same problem with terrain exterior boundry. I double checked pritnitng options in level manager and now have no idea why these elements are not printed.
Please compare pdf print output and screen capture of the same area. Screen capture looks fine but in pdf file I obtained contours. Contours are clliped where labels were expected. Moreove, there is exterior boundary missing in pdf file.
Please advice a little. Thanks.
Adam.
BTW:
Once I had to handle my grading plan to a person using AutoCad only. i dropped terrain model and all contour labels disapeared.

The contour labels are being generated automatically as defined by the Element Template assigned to the Terrain element. These labels are regenerated and re-displayed for each zoom level as the user zooms in and out of the terrain. These labels are a type of “temporary text” that can not be selected, moved, printed, etc… They are intended to provide the you quick information about the terrain without lowering performance in the DGN.
Therefore, if you want ‘real’ text contour labels for your Terrain elements that are printable, selectable, and editable, they have 2 options:
1. Use the Label Contours Command in the MicroStation Terrain Model task to place contour label text in the DGN.
2. Use one of the Civil products (InRoads, GEOPAK, MX) to push the Terrain to native TIN/DTM and display using native tools.

Hello Adam,
I just wanted to let you know that this has in fact been logged as a defect, D-122756. This issue has been filed and is in development's hands. There is currently no set date as to when this will be pushed out.
Your workaround will one of the two suggestions above in Nico's response.
Thank you Andrea.
The workfows suggested in Nico's reponse it is exactly how I was dealing with this. I am glad to hear tha defect was logged for this issue.
It this issue was a WAD then contours should not be clipped where labels were expected.
Having quick information regarding terrain is important but producing final data output to deliver it to Client is cruicial. I can print terrain wirh themathic display styles handled with element templates, i can pritn contours, but I can not print contours' labels. Wired.
