SS3 Profile Associations / Dependencies

Using OpenRoads, it's easy to find out which element a given element is dependent on horizontally - and to change that reference association to a different element if necessary.  How do you do the same for vertical geometry?

For example, if I select an element and look in the Element Information box, I can see that it was created by a projecting a slope from another element.  But how can I find out which profile it was projected from?  And change that association to another element if necessary?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Open a profile view for the element in question. Then select the profile element and use the element information tool to list the elements the profile "DependsOn".

Multiple profiles can be assigned to horizontal geometry so just use the Profile By Slope From Element tool again to generate the desired profile and then set it active in the profile view. If the original profile is no longer needed then just delete it. I am not aware of any method to directly swap the parent element where the profile was projected from in the current version.

Is this possible? .. to change the reference association to a different element? I don't see any options on the Information box to edit this. The only place I can actually see what the particular element is dependent on (via offset single horizontal element) is in the project explorer or clicking on the element itself. We have geometry drawn in that was offset from an element in the active file, but we'd like to reassign the geometry to offset from an element in a reference file.
