Geopak V8i 08.11.07.615
I'm running Geopak Earthwork on cross sections and am constantly getting the "XS-W-DANGPROP Proposed undercut element between points:..."
The earthworks ran fine in Geopak v8.
I tried unlocking all elements and adjusting the tolerance both ways with no improvement.
Existing ground is composed of lines (as opposed to line strings).
Even after modifying and snapping to the lines, I get the errors.
Any ideas?
proposed undercut should always connect to another proposed undercut or proposed finished grade.
make sure that your level symbology is correctly described in the input file. best way to troubleshoot is to remove the lines from the input and run just proposed and existing. then, one by one, add the proposed undercuts and check with microstation that the levels are correct.

The code for GEOPAK Earthwork was changed from the 08.11.07.246 version to the newer versions 08.11.07.494 and above.
When the DGN elements are selected before processing traditional GEOPAK EW, a subset of code was written to remove duplicate elements if they are vertical or they turn-back on themselves. This was done for the processing of closed components in Corridor Modeler.
As a workaround there are a couple of options:
1. Make the lines so they are not quite verical.
2. When 2 sets of vertical lines are drawn in the same position, break the lines so they are not exactly the same.
This is the first time I have tried to calculate earthwork using proposed cross-sections obtained through the DTM created with the Corridor Modeler. Using the Earthwork dialog from Project Manager, the earthwork is calculated for the first cross-section but for the remaining sections I also receive the above error message "XS-W-DANGPROP Proposed undercut element between points:..."
I've tried the above recommendation of identifying the proposed and existing lines only but in that case I receive the following message "XS-NOPROP No proposed xs elements at this station." From this point the file becomes corrupt and unreadable. Do you have any other suggestions?
what is the distance vertically between xs? and also, what is your vertical search distance in ew set to?
make sure you cover the current xs and not the ones above or below
