I have created a normal drainage alignment in S&S in a SDB file (inlets. pipes and areas). I now want to export this to MicroDrainage.
I have gone to the File - Export - Micro Drainge
The standard.pip file and conduit.sec file is selected from the inroads data folder.
I have set the Micro Drainge Globals file and entered in a micro drainage file name.
When I press save the *.sws file is created however it is empty.
How do I select my drainge layout to be exported?
Are you identifying the outfall? You should see a prompt at the bottom the MicroStation window that says "Identify Outfall". Once you data click on and accept the outfall for the drainage layout, the data will be written to the *.sws file.

I have another question:
Once exported the areas don't seem to be attached is it possible to also export the areas as well?
I am actually using the exported *.sws file in 12D not microdrainage.
According to the information I have, the exported file contains the structures (catchpits, manholes, pipes, drainage areas) and global variable settings.
