Once you have enabled the alternate ProjectWise workflow, users can right click on an alignment in the list of alignments and select to check in or check out individual alignments. The only caveat is that the COGO Buffer is an all or nothing access. If one user had it checked out, others cannot perform any commands that need to be able to add or modify the COGO Buffer. This includes Event Points, I believe.

Ref: Jason Littleton: Does this functionality allow ProjectWise users to simultaneously work on different alignments in the same geometry file (say User 1 works on Alignment 1 while User 2 works on Alignment 2 if both alignments are in the same geometry file)?

First, check to make sure the ALG has not been locked by another user. Please refer to the following instructions:
