I have installed V8i SS3 (8.11.09.494), the AU release. Under add-ins menu there is an entry for infraTools. Selecting that menu option results in a dialog instructing download and install from Select Services. See attached image.
Traditionally this means downloading MXTools. However the latest I could find is mxt081107494en. . That version of MXTools is already installed on a parallel MX V8iSS2 install and only offers to change, repair or remove.
How can I install MXTools/infraTools for SS3?
Hi Andrew,
I have just this morning asked Ian Rosam the expected release date on MX Tools for SS3 (great minds think a like)
Below is the response I received:-
Hi Adam,
I'm trying to get Ss3 bonus tools live at the moment. We've been having some issues getting final sing offs as they also need to sit alongside Ss2 versions but we are close. If you sign up for select notifications you'll get an email when they go live.
Regards
Ian
So hopefully not long nowCheers Adam
MX Tools V8i SS3 (08.11.09.493) is now available on Select
I have installed MX Tools for MX SS3 (and I have only MX SS3 installed on my PC) and when I try to run it within PSPAD I`m getting this error:
running input files using MX TOOLS "batch input file runner" works OK. I also tried it at home on not yet licensed MX SS£ (installed couple days ago and running on 1 month grace period) and it works great when using with PSPAD....can you do smth with that ??
Problem solved.
I had to install MX SS2 alongside my MX SS3. After that MX Tolls started to work properly (when using PSPAD and BnlxInputRunOnce.exe).
If you don't have an install of MX v8 SS2 installed alongside MX v8i SS3 you will need to make the change in the wiki article below to get the input file runner to work correctly.
Setting up Input File Runner for MX v8i SS3
Ok after doing what Jason Walsh has said, it worked successfully for a while however it had now stopped working again.
I have checked that the path is still in environment variables and it is, I am lost! Any other suggestions?
How do i go about installing it alongside SS3? I've tried and tried but it just wont allow it, says I have a newer version or if I install SS2 before SS3 it uninstalls it?
Please help!
I gave up on geet MXTools running on SS2 and SS3 until this month - thinking that the issue would have been resolved by 8 months after release. It seems nothing has changed. I noticed Jason Walsh's January 2014 post, but this does not seem to be relevant to my issue.
Can someone explain how can I have MX SS2 with MXTools installed in parallel with MX SS3 with MXTools?
During those 8 months or so only updated MX v8i SS3 releases were provided, the MXTools for SS3 wasn't updated and is still the same release.
While MX v8i SS3 supports a side by side install of MX v8i SS2 on the same machine the same isn't true for MXTools and the user has to decide what version of MX they want MXTools installed on.
