I'm a little bit confused about using the new Horizontal Geometry tools to create a horizontal alignment and tracking the alignment.
It seems like after I use tools from the Horizontal Geometry tool box (Tasks->Civil Tools->Horizontal Geometry), I need to export these horizontal alignments to native (Tasks->Civil Tools->General Geometry->Export to Native) before I can use the horizontal tracking tool to get stations and offsets from an alignment.
Is this the proper workflow? It seems counter-intuitive, as I am forced to convert the horizontal elements to the older .alg format instead of having the graphical elements in the drawing as my true horizontal alignment.
Am I missing something?
Chris
Currently, there are no tracking commands for the OpenRoads geometry. So, yes, if you wish to use those commands you will need to export them to native. I have previously filed a change request for this issue. The change request number is S-99410.
Is this not just a matter of using the Analyse Point Task. This will track station/offsets for Civil Geometry in SS3.
You can also use the Horizontal Geometry Report command located within Horizontal Geometry.
