Snapping Issues

I'm using Power InRoads V8i SS3 Verson 08.11.09.493

I've been having an intermittent issues with snapping to points when placing horizontal geometry.

Whether I tentative click first or not, the start point of my line ends up placing offset from the point I have snapped to (see attached images)

Is there a particular reason for this?

Thanks, Evan

  • Hi Evan,

I logged a support ticket about this issue months ago (some time in May).

It seemed that the response time of the geometry tools (in my case, I was looking at the Profile tools), was so slow that the data point I'd issued to select the tentaive point had moved off the point.

Interesting to know I'm not the only one who's seen this issue.

  • I faced another issue with civil tools and snapping. For example, when I am designing vertical alignment I can snap to the begining of my alignment in profile view. But when I try to edit vertical element point that was previously placed and snap to the beginig of profile view, it will not work. Quite the same with editing template drops when placed and I try to change template drop range I can not snap to other template drop ranges limits, I need to key-in stations by hand.

    Best,

    Adam
