Adding Alignment Points to Cogo Buffer AND Retain Alignment Point Name

Question

I am using MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 2) - Version 08.11.07.443 and InRoads Survey V8i (SELECTseries 2) - Version 08.11.07.494

I am trying to add alignment points to the COGO buffer while at the same time retaining the original point names. I have tried unsuccessfully to accomplish this by using the tool located at GEOMETRY > HORIZONTAL CURVE SET > EVENTS. I have also tried unsuccessfully to use the ASSIGN NAMES tool. Using the events tool, I have no problem creating COGO points with NEW point numbers, but I need to use the existing alignment point numbers. Thank you all for your help.

I suggest that you export the HA points to a file using Tools > XML Reports. You can then import that file into the COGO buffer using File > Text Import Wizard. I believe that is the best way to retain those points names.
