Hi, I have installed microstation SS3 (.459) but i couldn'y find any civil accudraw and civil geometry tools in it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times but still with no success. The setup is correct as the same tools could be found in my colleage machine. I have tried with both versions of SS3.
You did not specify if you are also loading a civil product. Civil Accudraw and Civil Geometry are delivered with InRoads/GEOPAK, which run on top of MicroStation. They are not delivered with MicroStation.
Hi Jacquelyn,
Yes i am loading inroads (.615) i.e SS2 version alongwith with MSTN(.459) version SS3.
I am able to load the inroads in MSTN through mdl applications but thses tools couldn't be found. so I thought maybe this could be the reason for this problem, so i tried to correct this problem through technote which I have gone through in be communities about loading inroads with microstation and have tried the workarounds mentioned in it with no success. Below is the link to it.

I have tried with proper installation and the two workaround s mentioned in the link regarding config files, but with no success.
Thanks and regards,
Shashank
Try launching InRoads from the start menu instead of MicroStation and then InRoads. This way the civil tools that you are looking for will be loaded. Loading InRoads through MDL applications does not load these tools.
Thanks for clearing this up. Is this going to be fixed in the future? I have users that cannot use this workaround and am wondering if there is a way to make it work. Has anyone gotten this to work in the mdl? Also if anyone can explain why this workaround works that would be great.
The shortcut used to start MicroStation has to have a configuration variable switch (–ws ) to identify which civil product to load. We use GEOPAK so the shortcut has -wsLoad_GEOPAK_SS2=1. You will have to incorporate the InRoads version of this variable into the method you use to launch.
A word of warning: The command line switch solution will only work in the very first release of SS3. In the recently released refresh (08.11.09.674) this is no longer an option. Please refer to the following article for more information:

So... How do we specify whether to run GEOPAK SS2 vs. GEOPAK SS3? Am I misunderstanding you? We presently have two different shortcuts that either use -wsLoad_GEOPAK_SS2=1 or -wsLoad_GEOPAK_SS3=1 along with pointing to different workspaces.
Let me clarify, you can still use the two different shortcuts. The difference is that GEOPAK SS3 is going automatically activate when you launch MicroStation.
