you are talking about profile, the criteria does drainage structure cross sections. FDOT has a very nice set up for those.

The drainage profile is created on the fly by the program the profile will start at the upstream node at its hydraulic center and go from there straight to the pipe connection point then down the pipe to the end or downstream pipe connection point then to the hydraulic center of that node and then onto the next pipe connection point. It continues in that manner to the end of the profile. The width of the node is a determined by where the pipes conncect to the structure and the hydraulic center. So if your pipes connect to each other then there will likely be no width or a single line representing the node.

Nico - We work mostly in PA and NJ so I need to generate nodes that represent the standard drainage structures for those states. We tend to use the same handful of structure types so I was hoping to modify the *.x files provided with Powercivil. However, without an understanding of what the coding in the *.x files means I'd be shooting in the dark until I hit something. I'm looking over the FDOT training booklet.
Beebe - How do I modify the pipe connections so they connect to the nodes and not each other?

The node cells will have pipe connection points on them if someone has modified the cell library. Turn on Constructions in the View Attributes and look for points in the cell. If they do not exist then you would need to modify the cell library and add them in. The GEOPAK Drainage Help details the various Drainage Points that can be added to node cells to give hydraulic intelligence. Search the help for Node Cells to get a clearer detailed description

I found the Node Cells section buried in the Drainage Help. By placing circles around circular nodes the pipes are drawn to the outside of the structure, however, on rectangular nodes I've placed POINT ELEMENTS with the same class and linestyle as the circles and the pipes are still being drawn to the center of the structure. Any thoughts?
