Export Superelevation

Question

Hello, 
 there is away to export and import the Superelevation ?

Dear Assaf,

There is no formal export tool, however, as a workaround, you can get the information from the editor pictured in a previous post.

1. The editor is customizable, so hide any columns that you do not want to see. You can do this by holding your cursor over any heading, right-click and select Show Columns. (For example, there is a Name column that contains both station and name that I turn off). If you want to reimport, display Superelevation, Station, Cross Slope, Pivot Edge.

2. Highlight all data in the table that you want in the report, then <crtl> + C to copy (windows copy command).

3. In a blank Excel spreadsheet, highlight cell A1, then <ctrl> + V to paste. (windows paste command).

4. In order to use as the CSV file to reimport, change the cross slopes from % to decimals using standard Excel commands (for example -2% would be -.02.)

5. The pivot edge must be either RS or LS, so use Excel commands for search and replace to change these. Alternately, you can leave this column out of the import and just enter it into Excel.

6. Save as csv. Be sure to check your Windows delimiter setting as that is what is used by the super import tool. In the U.S. Windows generally defaults to a comma, but this is not the case for international users. Do NOT change your delimiter setting, just be sure your file matches your machine setting.

7. You can make edits in the Excel spreadsheet (then save as csv again) or in the CSV file.

Hi Assaf 
 It looks as if you are the OpenRoads tools in Geopak. 
 The Superelevation Editor will allow the import of superelevation from an external CSV file that has been set up. 
 
 In relation to export what foramt are you looking for, the superelevation set up can be Repoted to a file.

 There is a superelevation to csv report which can be modified for the CSV import file into the superelevation editor. 
 I've had a look at the values changing when the profile is updated and this happens only when the horizontal profile is revised due to having to recalculate the values and the application locations. Rather then resetting to default these values are being recalculated for the revised horizontal profile according to the rules file selected. 
 If you have a CSV file it will likely need to be updated when the horizontal profile is revised so the application locations match the alignment.

Our apologies, the import super documentation was left out of the SS3 online documentation. It has been added in for the maintenance release. I have attached a PDF explaining the import tool.

Dear Assaf, 
 It should not be updating the super when you change the profile. The only time it should change the supers is if you reran the Calculate Super tool again or Import supers. If you already have the supers done and edited, you may have to reassign them to the corridor, but it should do this automatically. Can you confirm your exact workflow so that support can review and determine if it's a bug? I could not reproduce your problem with your steps above. Thanks.
